My journey

The journey behind Emilia Designs.

After many years working in a specialised jacket factory producing high-end garments for labels such as Oak Tree, Daniel Hechter and LTD, I built my foundation in quality craftsmanship. The factory environment shaped my approach completely, precision, structure and garments made to last were simply the standard.

I spent over two decades in that environment, specialising in jackets and tailored garments and developing a deep understanding of construction, quality, and a love for beautifully made clothing.

At 40, I fell pregnant with my daughter Mia, and her arrival changed everything. I knew I didn't want to return to full-time factory life. I wanted something more flexible and more personal. Something that allowed me to build a business around motherhood rather than alongside it.

I joined a small children’s clothing brand on a part-time basis and eventually bought it over. IG Kids (Indigo Groove), was a venture that worked perfectly for that season of my life.

But my true love has always been ladies' outerwear.

As Mia grew, it felt natural to return to what I know best. IG Kids evolved into Emilia Designs, and my brand rooted in decades of specialised manufacturing experience. My base is quality and every piece is thoughtfully constructed with the intention of becoming a part of a woman's wardrobe for years to come.

This is the work I love, made the way I've always believed it should be, and I'm grateful you're part of my journey.
